Kindergarten Writing contest – deadline is February 28, 2011
Do you have a story that would appeal to kindergarteners? Enter it into the Children’s Writer® Kindergarten contest , and you could win cash! The grand prize is $500 and publication in the Children’s Writer® !
Here are some guidelines: Write a fictional story or nonfiction about family life or school for ages 5-6, up to 150 words. The story should be appropriate to five- and six-year-olds learning to read on their own. It should be fun, use vocabulary and syntax well, and have high interest for a kindergartener. Take great care not to write too high for this age. Know what a five- or six-year-old can and cannot read. Originality and the overall quality of writing will also be considered. Publishability is the ultimate criterion.
